Oil Justice
On 20 May the Guardian reported the story of Gilberto Torres, a trade unionist who was kidnapped and tortured in Colombia. We are representing him in a case in the UK against multinational oil companies.

This case has prompted a unique collaboration between , War on Want and Colombian NGO COSPACC.  Oil Justice was set up with the aim to develop a new and unique community-led model to obtain justice for the entire community, not just compensation for minority. Our goal is to rebuild an empower communities to also help develop proposals to strengthen domestic policy and laws. We will bring cases, empower communities, create awareness, and lobby the Government.

British Red Cross
The British Red Cross have obtained funding from the Big Lottery for a joint project with Praxis & Asylum Aid. As part of this project DPG solicitors will be providing legal supervision and developing precedents for Red Cross caseworkers to use to assist destitute asylum seekers and refugees.

Roma Support Group
The Roma Support Group has obtained funding for a project to develop the Roma community’s knowledge about their rights by training delivered by DPG solicitors. In addition we will be providing supervision for their caseworkers on housing issues arising.

Cardiff Law School
We have a joint initiative with Cardiff Law School’s Pro Bono programme to work with law students on international law and development issues.
